1st graders learned how to make snowflakes with some unexpected materials recently. We used lasagna noodles, marker caps, popsicle sticks, and shape stampers to stamp six-sided beauties like these. We worked on radial symmetry - all six sides should have the same pattern. This lesson was definitely a hit! Students loved the freedom of design and the satisfying results. There was lots of prep on my part, but it was gratifying to see all of the learning taking place!
