Students learned so much about Picasso through this project - and really stretched their creativity! Picasso changed styles throughout his life more than any other artist. He was pretty much responsible for the Modern Art movement through his creative abstract reimaginings of people.
Students started their collage by making a face with two halves of different colors with one half showing a profile view. Then I taught them how to make the mouth and eyes. After that, they were left to imagine and create their own Halloween monster. We had werewolves, witches, aliens, vampires, zombies, and more.
